How to Install Genesis Child Theme on Your WordPress Website
There are so many themes that you can use on your WordPress website. Some of the themes are slow especially when loaded with plug-ins or a large amount of data. Most web developers prefer the Genesis theme because of its high speed among other benefits.

Step by step guide to installing Genesis Child Theme on WordPress
I have mentioned above child theme won't live without parent theme so making sure that you have installed parent theme I mean Genesis Framework and already activated to your website. The following steps will give you a transparent guide.
Step 1: Download Genesis Framework and Child Theme
The first thing that you need to do is to install the framework then you can install the Genesis child theme. Purchase the Genesis framework and its child theme and download the files on your disc.
Step 2: Upload and Install the Genesis Framework
In this step, you need to open the WordPress site dashboard to upload the Genesis theme framework. Once you have opened your WordPress admin dashboard, you need to follow the following steps to install. After following the steps below, you will have successfully installed the Genesis Framework on your WordPress site.
- Navigate to Appearance then Themes
- Click on the Add New button
- Click on the Upload Theme
- Select Choose File button
- Select the Genesis file from your hard-disk.
- Click on the Install Now button
- Click Activate

Step3: Upload and Install the Genesis Child Theme
This is another simple step
similar to the second one. Open the WordPress site dashboard so that you can
upload the child theme. Once you have opened, follow the following steps
similar to what you did before.
- Navigate to Appearance then themes
- Select the Add New button
- Click on the Upload Theme
- Select Choose File button
- Select the Genesis Child theme file from your hard-disk.
- Click on the Install Now button
- Click Activate
Now you have installed the
Genesis Framework and the child theme. It is important to note that you need to
install the parent theme first then move to the child theme. After that, you
can now customize your Genesis theme. You can set your widgets and change the
colors if you do not want to use the default color to give the theme a look you
want.
